Visit of the Honorable Chief Minister to Government Girls Postgraduate College, Quetta Cantt
A significant visit was conducted to Government Girls Postgraduate College, Quetta Cantt, on December 10, 2025, by a high-level delegation led by the Honorable Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan Bugti . The purpose of the visit was to inspect the ongoing construction of the Shaheed Nazima Talib Block and to review the institution’s developmental and academic progress. The delegation was accompanied by the distinguished journalist and host, Mr. Sohail Warraich , whose presence highlighted the national importance of the occasion.
The Secretary of Communications and Works, Mr. Lal Jan Jaffar, provided a comprehensive briefing to the Chief Minister on the status, architectural details, and projected timeline for the completion of the Shaheed Nazima Talib Block. Following the site inspection, the Chief Minister announced the immediate release of allocated funds to ensure the timely continuation of construction. Furthermore, he formally assured the establishment of fully equipped hi-tech laboratories for the Botany and Zoology departments, with a definitive completion deadline set for June 2026.
During the proceedings, the Chief Minister publicly commended the exceptional leadership and dedicated service of the Principal, Prof. Sadia Farooqi. He formally acknowledged that, in recognition of her tireless efforts and outstanding contributions to education in Balochistan, her service tenure had been extended by one year. This recognition was presented as a model of institutional commitment and professional excellence.
The visit was attended by senior officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Quetta, the Additional Secretary for Colleges, the Director of Colleges and Higher Education, the Joint Director of Higher Education, alongside the college’s Vice Principals and senior counsellors. The collective presence of these officials underscored a coordinated and sustained commitment to the advancement of girls’ higher education within the province.
This high-profile engagement reaffirms the government’s steadfast support for the institution’s development agenda and highlights the critical role of dedicated leadership in achieving educational excellence.
