On Thursday 4th September 2025, the students of B.S. Botany, 8th Semester, Govt. Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt, undertook a field visit to the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP), Quetta.

The purpose of this visit was to gain practical knowledge for the research work about wastewater treatment process, Exmine the treatment stages for Biological, Chemical & Physical parameters and to observe the STP role in environmental protection & management of Quetta city.

The students were briefed by Dr. Z. Waqar (In-charge STP) and team, about the different stages of sewage treatment, including Screening, Sedimentation, Coagulation/Flocculation, Biological & Chemical Treatment Methods, Sludge Management, Chlorination, TDS, COD, BO, & other parameters measurement & treatment methods. The explanations and demonstrations helped them in their course practicals & reseach work. The students accompanied by teachers Ms. Hamida Gul, Mrs. Anila Anwar, Mrs. Yasmeen & Mrs.Bushra on field visit.
