Golden Day for the graduates: A Hallmark Event in the History of Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt
A landmark occasion was marked on December 13th, 2025, as Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt held its Second Convocation for the session 2020-2024. The ceremony celebrated the academic success of students from 14 disciplines.
The event saw 125 out of 245 registered graduates participate, with 14 Gold Medalists and 14 recipients of the Pin of Honour being recognized for their exceptional achievements.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests. Chief Guest Mr. Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail,Governor of Balochistan, presided over the event. Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan, also attended. The occasion was further honored by the presence of Additional Secretary for Colleges and Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Malik Achakzai ; Director of Colleges and Higher Education Balochistan, Prof. Muhammad Hussain Baloch ; former principals, principals from various colleges, and other esteemed educational personalities.
In his address, Chief Guest Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail commended Principal Prof. Sadia Farooqi for organizing the significant event. He motivated the graduating students and made generous announcements for the institution, including the award of two buses and one coaster for the college. He also announced two lakh rupees for the band team of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Jinnah Town Quetta. Furthermore, the Governor extended a gracious invitation to the graduates and participating staff for tea at the Governor House.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai congratulated the graduates and emphasized the vital bond between the university and constituent colleges. He appreciated the efforts of Principal Prof. Sadia Farooqi and the BS Program Coordinator,
Prof. Dr. Gulnaz Rasheed.
In her speech, Principal Prof. Sadia Farooqi expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest Governor of Balochistan and all dignitaries for gracing the event. She congratulated the parents and graduates on their success, wishing them continued blessings in their future endeavors. She also thanked and applauded her dedicated team for orchestrating the magnificent convocation.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of souvenirs to the dignitaries and college faculty. A lunch was arranged for the graduates, their parents, guests, and staff.
Once again, Government Girls Postgraduate College Quetta Cantt has reaffirmed its pivotal and leading role in advancing female education in Balochistan.
